About Me

Glyniss is a music, culture and politics writer from North Carolina.
Her work has touched on an array of topics from mental health awareness and stigmas in marginalized communities, uncovering history from notable N.C. landmarks, to highlighting underrepresented Black musicians and moguls across the south.
Her works have been featured in UrbanOne, HuffPost, CBS, News Nation, Black Girl Nerds, The Click News, and many independent publications. She is also the creator of culture zine and newsletter "My Point Is on Substack.
Glyniss has also moderated several virtual event panels, including the 2024 Eye 4 Eye Symposium honoring Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes of TLC.
She is a graduate of New York University with a master's degree in American Journalism and a bachelor's in Communications from Fayetteville State University.
She has a passion for music, literature, food, travel, social justice politics, true crime, pop culture, and traditional news-base reporting.
